More success for Moriwaki in Japan

Tuesday, 20 October 2009

The sixth round of the All Japan national championship at Motegi over the weekend saw Moriwaki take another step forward in their Moto2 project.

There was another strong performance by the Moriwaki Moto2 MD600 machine in the latest round of the All Japan national championship over the weekend at Twin Ring Motegi, as the factory’s rider Shogo Moriwaki crossed the line in first place in the 250GP race.

Having enjoyed a similar success at Okayama in the same championship at the end of September, Moriwaki this time triumphed by a 38 second margin – after starting the race in pole position on the evolving 600cc 4-stroke bike.

The next step in Moriwaki’s Moto2 project could be an appearance in Spain before the end of the season, as the Japanese firm have received a proposal to participate in the CEV (Spanish National Championship) - as they continue their preparations to have a presence in the new Moto2 World Championship category next season.

There are two remaining rounds in the 2009 CEV season, at Valencia and Jerez in November, where Moriwaki may make a European debut with their new prototype
